A nude photograph of Madonna, taken in 1990 by famous photographer Steven Meisel, is expected to fetch at least £5,000 (approx. $8000) at Bonham’s auctioneers in New York on the 8th of May. The shot measures 21.5 by 19 inches, and shows the ‘Queen of Pop,’ smoking a cigarette. Judith Eurich from Bonham’s told press this week:
“This is an absolutely stunning image and it is just a beautiful tone of grey. It is not just black and white it is grey and silvery. Madonna is a very healthy person so I’d imagine the cigarette is just a prop to make her look sexy and sultry. There are Madonna superfans and devotees across the world who would love to own it.”
This is actually a picture from April, 2 but it wasn’t till now that I noticed Miley’s shoes… She’s wearing Shape Ups! Skecher claims that the Shape Ups tone your calves, legs, butt, abs & back and improve your posture & balance. Plus, they improve circulation. But from what I’ve read about them: don’t expect any miracles though. They won’t make you able to skip the gym. Just consider them as an extra to wear on the treadmill, to the grocery shop, walking the dog etc.
Do you own a pair of Shape Ups? And what do you think about them? Let me know!
Most women gain some weight during their pregnancy. But Mariah Carey seemed to gain a whole lot more. After giving birth to twins in April 2011, Mariah Carey managed to lose 30 lbs and got down to a healthy US size 6 (UK size 10). The star credits Jenny Craig’s structured eating plan for her weight-loss success, along with a workout routine that helps her stay toned. Gracing the cover of Shape Magazine in tiny shorts and a crop top, she told the magazine:
“I put on 70 lbs. but if you look at me in pictures you’d think it was more like 9,000 lbs. I have a lot of empathy with people who have to lose a lot of weight.” Mariah also talked about the mental struggle to lose so much weight, telling Shape, “I remember thinking at the time: ‘I’ll never look or feel the same again.’”
Julianne Hough arrives at Us Weekly‘s Hot Hollywood Style Event held at Greystone Manor Supperclub wearing a semi-sheer DKNY ruby dress. Great dress, especially the top! But somehow the lower part doesn’t seem to flatter her great body. What do you think of the 23-year-old actress’ dress? Hit or Miss?

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley shows off her endless legs at the 2012 Coachella Music Festival. She was seen hanging around at the festival with friends on Friday (April 20) in Indio, California. The 25-year-old model was spotted dancing and laughing with her pals while enjoying the Arctic Monkeys play a set.
We all know Christina Aguilera’s weight has been fluctuating the last two years. But the singer stated more than a few times that she feels totally comfortable in her own skin and is proud of her curves. So why did a Spanish magazine use a 2-year-old picture (in which she looks clearly skinnier) of Christina Aguilera for the cover of their latest issue? The shot used to promote her single ‘Not Myself Tonight’, was first released in 2010. But the picture looks nothing like her current figure. No doubt though that they probably photoshopped the picture. But why did the magazine not take a more recent shot?

Thanks to pop star Miley Cyrus, the health and nutrition world is buzzing about a gluten-free diet as a means to lose weight. There are lots of different opinions and some of them are quite harsh. Let’s take a closer look at the whole gluten-free-diet-debate.
Gluten is found in grains like wheat, barley, and rye; and it gives baked goods the chewy texture that most consumers find desirable. Diets excluding gluten are recommended for people with celiac disease, but don’t expect avoiding gluten by itself will encourage weight loss. Any diet too high in grains raises blood sugar, which encourages fat storage. People on gluten-free diets can consume a variety of grains and starches (rice or potatoes, for example) that raise blood sugar. (Source: Policy Mic)
Does that mean you’ll gain weight if you’re on a gluten-free diet? No, not per se. Everyone is different and has different responses. But if you start a gluten-free diet there’s indeed a possibility you’ll lose some weight… How you may wonder? Continue reading
